Dear Sir,

please read carefully, I send you an email concerning the planed Hyundai factory in Czech Republic.

There are two places: Nosovice or Mosnov.

As for Nosovice, it is absolutely unacceptable for us to build any factory there. It is a nonsense, as it is a beautiful agricultural landscape, near the mountains and near the protected landscape area Beskydy, there is production of the well known cabbage in the area which is under the name "Nosovicke kysane zeli" = "Nosovice sauerkraut" well known not only in the Czech Republic but also in Europe. This sauerkraut has exceptional taste properties, which are given by the location, where the cabbage is grown (proven objectively by chemical soil and product analysis). When the growing area of the cabbage would be moved, the properties would be lost and the sauerkraut production would be finished.

The "Nosovicke kysane zeli" is protected designation of origin in the Czech Republic and it is being decided concerning the protection of this name in the whole EU (the European Council now decides). By moving the agricultural production to other locality, this protection would be lost.

The area in Nosovice has 270 ha and there are cabbage and other agricultural plants, which consume CO2 from the air and produce oxygen, by which this landscape prevents the global warming in its measures. We will not allow to devastate this area and to move it into concrete and iron jungle of a factory.

At present still substantial part of the land (at least 30 ha inside the area) is in the hands of private owners, which do not have any intention to sell the land. Some of them refuse to negotiate and even refuse to meet the authorities. Czech Republic is a democratic and capitalist country, so that the state can not capture the private ownership. And the building of some factory is not in the state interest of the government (in state interests are e.g. airports, roads etc., not factories). So at present the authorities have no chance how to get the rest of the land under control and how to complete the area for the investor. So you have no chance to start to build the factory. Some people are very proud here, they make the agriculture on their lands are at no conditions willing to change this, to sell and/or to work in your factory. They also protect the land for their children, grandchildren etc.

By your continues attempt to build the factory in Nosovice, you get a very bad face here in the Czech Republic, you get this bad reputation not only for Hyundai (as big nature destroyer) but also for your mother country - South Korea.

As for the MOSNOV area, you are quite welcome. Please build the factory there. It is not far from Nosovice (some 20 kilometers), 99 percent of the land is already bought by the state for the purposes of building a factory, it is an industrial zone including airport, you are welcome by the mayor as well as by the people to build a factory there, no substantial problems concerning the natural environment.

So please, do not insist of the Nosovice location, decide for the Mosnov location and everything will be OK for both sides.

Now, the vice president of Hyundai is to come to the Czech Republic to negotiate. We would like to meet him and to give him relevant information concerning the situation around the building of the Hyundai factory in the Czech Republic. Please contact me if you agree to such a meeting. My contacts are below.

Sincerely
