Cathedral Gorge State Park, Nevada
Cathedral Gorge State Park is in the quiet northeast corner of Nevada. It is a visual treat and fully accessible to anyone who cares to wander through and climb among the formations. The sensual pleasure of feeling Mother Earth is not forbidden in this place. It is shaped by erosion, with spires, flash flood washes, and water worn passages narrow enough to be spanned by lifting your arms.
Photo tip: The photographer will find gorge color at its most saturated early in the morning. The afternoon sun sinks behind western hills before it can impart its golden glow on Cathedral Gorge.
